It seems to me that new and emerging technologies will directly shape the future of libraries. Those who chose never to investigate these things will miss the challenge and the reward of wonder and discovery. The shared learning experience with my colleagues was an invaluable experience. Each endeavor with a colleague presented the opportunity to be the teacher or to be the learner or both, depending on my level of proficiency for that particular thing. I will continue to explore, discover and learn about new technologies. I look forward to watching libraries change and flourish.Dorothy Stoltz, Outreach and Programming, Carroll County Public Libraryhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14940327173494988520noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4127724704331930486.post-61810908598975163372007-08-05T11:07:00.000-07:002007-08-05T11:18:25.770-07:00Thing Learn About AudiobooksAfter spending time exploring Overdrive and Project Gutenburg, I browsed Maryland's Digital eLibrary Consortium collection via CCPL. To my del.igh.t I found a book I hadn't heard of that interested me very much, "Founding Myths: Stories That Hide Our Patriotic Past." The book cover was posted in their Flickr photo series about library book discussion groups, programs and items of interest. I then purused Thomas Ford's RSS favorites discovering a promising website on American Presidents at the University of Virginia's Miller Center. There I appreciated a podcast of a 1964 phone call from the Johnsons to Senator Richard Russell of Georgia.
